I always thought this place goes without a name, so I called it ‘hole in the wall café’. This name basically describes the simple, but cool place. After having decided to write a little something about this place, I was allowed to find out, it actually has a name: Main Café! As such, the bar is in a tiny cave in a wall, but the tables and beach chairs are spread in front of it with an amazing view on the Main and the skyline of Frankfurt. Exactly the simplicity of this place makes it so comfortable and inviting. Mainly drinks are offered (such as the classic apple wine), but also small and delicious bites are served, for example sandwiches, focaccia or piadinas and pasta salads.
As the café does attract a lot of visitors, you might have to share a bench with other guests and hereby make new acquaintances. There is always space, or space is made! The inner-city is in walking distance, so if you’re exhausted of shopping or whatever and are looking for a chilled place – this is the place to be!
In their main season (June until August they’re open daily / 10 am – midnight (or longer). In bad weather, the opening hours might be adapted.
